In its quest to clean up its news ecosystem, Facebook is working harder to prevent Pages from sharing inaccurate information.
And that involves hitting those Pages where it hurts: in their ad revenue.
TechCrunch reports that Facebook will begin preventing Pages featuring false news from buying any Facebook ads at all, regardless of whether the ad contains a disputed link. The goal is to shift incentives and help Facebook users access the most accurate information.
Will it work? Or will some groups find a workaround?
